2012 Dia del Niños

Today we have most all of the  kids who live in our cañon come and meet down at the church at the bottom of our stairs. Remanente Escogido with Pastor’s Jesus and Magda. We had games, songs, and lot’s lot’s of candy. The kids were bouncing off what walls we had. Then we had some nachos and  cheese and more juice (sugar-free).

Easter Sunday Baptism

We actually went to a lake further east just past Tecate. Not everyone could agree on the name of the lake. This was Pastor’s Mingo & Esmeralda’s final service and baptism with the people that went with us to the lake. They are now currently waiting on God to direct them to a new church to work in.

Easter Sunday Baptism Tomorrow

Tomorrow we are headed over to ‘Presa Lake. Yes, Tijuana has a lake. I’m not sure what it’s like but we’ll find out tomorrow. The final service of Monte Sinai with Pastors Mingo and Esmeralda will end with a baptism at the lake shore. I’ll take some photos and make a little vid and post it ASAP.

April 3rd 2012

I can hardly believe it is April already and Easter is Sunday!  I love celebrating Easter, the resurrection day of our Lord and Savior. Easter for me pulls all things together. Christ without his death and resurrection would have been just a great man, a prophet, but still just a great man. But what makes him stand out above all things for me is he died in my place and arose from the dead.  In this we see the true evidence of his being the son of God, the fulfillment of all prophecy. I love celebrating who he is, and what he did for me. I try to live every day to glorify him, but still it is a joy to set aside a day to rejoice and give him the glory in a way a little bigger then every day and a little more special, and reflect on what he suffered in my place because he loved me and had a plan for my life. God wants fellowship with us, how awesome and truly incredible is that! We at Baja Soul Patrol just wanted to take a moment to say Happy Resurrection Day. It is our hope that this week you will do a little soul searching, and reflection of all Jesus has done for you and in your life, and give him the glory he deserves.  We want you to know as we reflect on all Jesus has done in us and for us this reminds us of you, and how he so graciously put you in our lives. We love you so dearly and are so blessed to have you as a part of our lives and a part of our ministry here in Tijuana Mexico. It is truly not an easy task to serve in a country not your own leaving behind all you knew or thought you knew and those you loved but knowing you are praying with us and for us and working with us in this great adventure for Jesus makes our day a little easier and the work we do a little lighter, thank you for you dedication, love and support in our lives, you are a blessing from God and we love you. We have been busy. Our breakfast kitchen is steadily growing each week. We are continuing to work hard with Pastor Mario in his church by  helping him build a physical building as well as build up his church body. We are still helping other pastors also through preaching and teaching as God continues to open doors for us to do his will. We continue with our Wednesday night Bible study in our home and Friday’s ladies Bible studies at Excelencia Cristiana as well.  God is good and the harvest is ready! “In closing we want to extend a special thank you to all of you who have supported us in prayer and financially. If you would like to help with our support you can mail a check or money order to IAM, P.O. Update 2012

2/28/12

Wow, what a year we have had so far. In January my mom, Jackie Parker and brother, Steven Parker came for a visit for ten days, then less than a week later Betty Hauser came down for almost a week. She was only gone 3 days and I ended up in the hospital with a serious gall bladder attack which leads to a 4 day hospital stay that ended with surgery. Then it was 2 weeks bed rest and taking it easy for a month. We are not yet to the end of the month, but I am back to normal activity and working hard for Jesus. Scott finally got a job back in the end of December but still has not been able to start as we are still waiting on the back ground checks. We have been assured this is normal as it takes a month to two months for these extensive searches to come back. So we are still in waiting and truly would appreciate your prayers to help move this along. Scott is chomping at the bit to get back to work and we truly need him to be back to work, it has been a long haul. God is good in all things and has been good to us as always. His provision is amazing and a wonder for sure. All of our normal programs are continuing on in this year. We have Bibles studies on Wednesdays at our house and the group has grown we are now 10 adults and 4 children. We also do a Friday am Bible study at Excelencia Cristiana, Pastor Mario’s church. Every other Saturday we have our breakfast kitchen and we average 20 children and 5 adults. We are still preaching where ever God opens the doors Sundays as well as any other day. We are giving out food dispenses once a month to those in need and whenever people come to the door asking which is weekly. Plus we are still doing extra activates for children and women with other churches on a regular basis. God is good and we take what we do for Jesus seriously and put our whole hearts into it. We love the life God has given us and it is truly our pleasure to serve him in any way we can. We still need your help as always with prayer and support as God would lead you as the work we are doing is truly too big for us alone. God does not send everyone to the mission fields, but he uses everyone to help work them for sure. We are doing this together, for Jesus, his kingdom his purpose, and his glory.

“In closing we want to extend a special thank you to all of you who have supported us in prayer and financially. If you would like to help with our support you can mail a check or money order to IAM, P.O. Merry Christmas from Tijuana Mexico

12/24/11

Baja Soul Patrol

What an incredible year we have had in Mexico. This August past we celebrated our tenth year here in Tijuana working for Jesus. We feel so blessed and honored to get to work for our Lord in this capacity. Who could have imagined this would be our lives. Certainly not us! God has so much more vision for our lives then we do for ourselves. We were a bit like Gideon, just hiding out trying not to get caught by the enemy, but hungry to see the greatness of God, but too afraid to step out. When he called us to be missionaries, I know just how Gideon must have felt, who us Lord, now that is funny, do you see where we are, and that we are the least of the least? Praise God he does not see us as we see ourselves, he  looks at us through eyes of love and hope, knowing what he do through us and with us if we but surrender to him completely. Not an easy road but definitely worth it.

We are blessed and truly have had a busy year. We have continued to strive to fulfill the mission God sent us to do.  Work with his Pastors, bless his people and reach out to the lost and hurting. We have done this through  ministering through weekly Bible studies, prayer, counseling, preaching, and teaching, children’s programs, conferences, retreats, feeding the homeless and hungry, out reaches and evangelism, and by the manner in which we work to live as a testimony of his greatness and love.

This year Kenny graduated from high school and moved to Georgia, and is looking to join the military. Man do we miss him and it is a bit hard to get used to it being just Scott and I. Anna continue to work and go to school in Washington where she lives with my parents.

We had lots of visitors this year for which we are truly blessed and grateful. We love to have you come here and see what we do on a more personal level.

We are grateful to the Lord for all the blessings and trails of the year, and there has been an abundance of both. Each year I think this has been the hardest year yet but, I would not change it for anything because we learn and grow through our struggles and trails. If there is one thing I consistently ask God for it is to grow and mature. We can learn if we choose to, and grow stronger for him and in him, no matter the cost as we know the blessings will far outweigh the price.

We want to say Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you and your house and may the love of God and his son abide in you and with you always. May he continually fill you with fresh fire and hunger for more of him and may he help you step out for him in new and powerful ways.

God bless you from our house and family to yours, we love you and thank God for you.  If you would like to help with our support you can mail a check or money order to IAM, P.O. Box 38392, Cleveland, Ohio 44138 (please include a note with our name on it) or you can give securely online at www.IAMUSA.org , just put our name in the description section. Excelencia Cristiana * PMC 2011 Update

12/23/11

PMC update:

One more program to go and we made it through all the Christmas programs for 2011. Last night we were with Pastors Mario and Lupita at Excelencia Cristiana. It is a small group but for Christmas the kids had doubled in numbers. It does not take much for the word to spread around that someone is having a Christmas party. We had twenty-four children and youth plus two newborns babies, of these, seventeen were new kids we have been reaching out to and ministering to on our Evangelistic Sundays.  We are seeing good fruit for our labors for sure. We also had two new youth and two new adults who have started coming also because of the out reaches we have been doing once a month at the church. God is truly good and we never labor for Jesus in vain. We had a time with everyone, songs, games, prizes, food and gifts for everyone even the adults, in total we were forty-three in total. God is awesome and we love what we are doing for Jesus.

Yesterday we had another Pastor, Pastor Jovita come by and pick up toys for her church. She has a children’s program of about eighty kids and was short by half of the gifts she needed to bless these precious little ones of Jesus. We were able to bless her with the rest of what she needed Praise the Lord. I know God multiplies the gifts we put in that upper room of ours. We were praying for God to multiply what we had to have enough for all our programs. God not only met our needs, but made it possible for us to be able to bless another church with fifty more gifts. How great is our God. You cannot tell me he does not care about what we care about; I have seen the evidence to prove different. Glory to God!

Tonight will be our last program and we will be with Pastor Carlos and Rosa in Fuente de Agua Viva.

Please continue to lift us up in your prayers as we endeavor to serve our Lord here in Tijuana Mexico, working with his Pastors, blessing his people, and reaching out to the lost.

We love you and thank the Lord for you in our lives,

God bless you,

12/19/11

Sunday had us at New Hope (Nueva Esperanza) church with Pastor Uribe close to Rosarito. We had a packed house, but a lot of missing children due to the bad weather. It started to rain, and we prayed for the rain to be held back until we were done with our program and the rain stopped right away and even the sun started shining. God is good and what a testimony to all.  We served a nice hot soup after the service. Everyone loved the program and all the children went home with toys and a full tummy. God is so good. So many of the children we are able to bless would not have a Christmas present for Christmas if not for PMC. I know Christmas is not about the presents, but about Jesus and receiving him. Still what a better way to share the love of Jesus and his story then by giving the children a gift along with sharing about how Jesus is the best gift in the world. Only Jesus can bring healing, health, happiness, peace and forgive our sins. Jesus is always the answer the best answer. Being a child of God comes with privileges and favor, God blesses his people and that’s what we do at PMC we share the story of Christ and give the children a little love gift, or blessing from Jesus.

Thanks for your help with this program we love you and hope you enjoy the pictures.

God bless you, Scott and Jeanine Barnet

AMA Teen Center & Monte Sinai PMC 2011

PMC update:

12/17/11

Man , did we have a long day! We were up and out of the house at 9 am to head to our program with Pastor Rene of Ama Youth Center. Pastor Miguel was there too praise the Lord. What fun we had. Really close to 100 shouting and hopping, screaming excited children. We had songs games with prizes, a puppet show and we cooked up lunch and served it for Pastor Rene who brought hot dogs and juice. God is good and it was a lot of fun. All in all we had about 135 people present. This was our biggest program.

After our program with Ama we ran as fast as possible over to Monte Sinai with Pastor Mingo and Esme to help out with their Christmas program. The missionaries who put Mingo and Esmeralda in the church, put on a huge Christmas program, there was about 250 children and maybe 50 adults present. We put on our puppet show and games and songs and such to help out the other missionary group. We had a blast and the kids really love the games and puppets for sure; still they do go crazy for the toys. Everyone adult, child, teen, young and old love to receive presents.

Thanks for all your help and support to make these programs possible. The children’s faces just light at the sight of all of us showing up, just knowing they are going to get a Christmas gift. God is so good and we treasure in our lives.

That’s four programs down and three to go!

God bless you, please continue to pray for us and we will pray for you.

PMC 2011 La Pena…The City Church

PMC update:

What an awesome night with the people of La Pena with Pastors Miguel and Debbie Rivera. The church was full. We even had a few new people who came tonight, what a blessing. The program was awesome, songs, games, puppet show, prizes, candy canes, gifts and snacks. We had hats, gloves, shoes, for all the kids and even some things for the young men and women. God is good and we always enjoy our time with La Pena. I am so grateful for such a great team; everything went off without a hitch! We had about 55 kids plus youth we were able to bless. Thanks for all your help with PMC it is a blessing to many. God bless you and love you dearly.

We were also able to give to Pastor Rene and Ana a stove that was donated to us. They will be using it for the community center to be able to cook the meals as they have had to cook and transport the food, making things much more difficult for them. They were excited and this will help make things a bit easier for them. God is good. Big thank you to Jim and Karen Meyer who donated the stove to Hilarious Givers to get us this stove, Thanks! God is good.
